I don’t know if it was tactical but it did work. Even the liberal polls show as much. However do I really believe Boehner intended from the beginning to go ahead with the sequester? Not at all. I believe they did intend to cave. They deserve credit for not caving on this but excuse me if from day to day I can’t keep up with the number of times they do cave. :-)

I think he fully intended to cave, but went on a bender the day before the sequester and woke up a day or two afterwards.
