This prof says North Korea’s December 2012 ICBM satellite launch was more advanced than the media and US gov’t sources are saying. Watch his video starting around the 15:00 minutes mark.

“Professor of Astronautics Mike Gruntman uses principles of ASTE 520 Spacecraft Design to look at the North Korea satellite launch on December 12, 2012.”

Your reading comprehension must be at a public school level if you think that is what I’m saying. Sad, so very sad.

PLEASE! Gay marriage and limiting guns in the hands of right wingers is far more important discourse. The left cant be bothered with trifling matters like this or the Mideast blowing up.

“Ping me when they get that to work...”

I won’t be able to... :-)

You are right that he is being watched, but what has that stopped?

Their last nuclear test WAS “low-yield” which is exactly the signature of EMP weapons.

The technology to do this has been “sold” to them. And they are not gonna do a NASA-style development program.

Their achieving an orbital launch even once is a big step toward having this capability.

And it is obvious that they cannot mount a conventional nuclear threat.

SO it is like an asteroid strike - devastating if it happens - except them doing this is a lot higher probability near-term.

Maybe we ought to announce as policy that we are quarantining their orbital launch capability, and then shoot down anything they launch with a ballistic or orbital launch trajectory with Aegis destroyers.

Oh yeah, we gotta have a real commander in chief for something like this... my bad...

Doc, I was replying to what Orange said, not what you said that he replied to. I just included you in the To box since you were discussing with him. I aree with your comment. I was replying to this:

You cage a rabid animal he will strike back. Just like Japan when we cut off their oil supplies.

Not saying that at all. But I will say this, Bush surrendered to NK by removing them from the list “Axis of Evil”. NK got oil supply and possible diplomat relations for “promising” to stop arms race.

Then what did your comment mean? Sounds as though you are blaming the US for Nork’s behavior. Elucidate if you want.

I think many people are even more on edge than usual, and the “usual” is pretty bad lately as it is.

Your post regarding the old canard that FDR forced Japan to attack by starting embargoes. That’s bullish*t.

Most wars involved the supply of Oil. Japan relies on oil imports to exist. I am not saying US provoked Japan. Japans desire for oil caused them to attack. The same is playing out for NK, a rabid cornered animal.

Japan had been aggressively moving to dominate Asia since the late 1800s, having started the Sino-Japanese war of 1894-1895 that lead to Japan’s complete control of Korea by 1910. The war with Russia in 1905 was designed to remove the next threat to their designs. That left only the US to challenge their power, and they knew war was coming long before 1941.

In the meantime the Japanese kept busy by invading Manchuria after staging a false flag attack. Maybe you’ve heard of the Rape of Nanking? The sinking of the Panay?

The last straw was the invasion of French Indochina. Only after ALL THAT did FDR move to apply pressure via embargoes.

Cutting off their oil was the excuse, not the reason.

I agree completely. Sorry for the miscommunication. You know some of my good friends started out as a miscommunication. Good to know you.
