(Reuters) - The family of black teenager Trayvon Martin, who was shot to death last year by a neighborhood watch captain, has settled a wrongful death claim against the homeowners association of the Florida gated community where he was killed, a Florida newspaper reported on Friday.
Benjamin Crump, an attorney for the Martin family, filed paperwork outlining the settlement, which is thought to be more than $1 million, at a courthouse in Sanford, Florida, according to the Orlando Sentinel newspaper. Crump did not return calls for comment.

Fear of racist Black jurors is a powerful motivator to settle. No shortage of ‘em in Florida.
“Someone’s got to pay!”
More specifically, other people's money solves everything in the liberal world. Nothing but leeches.
More like, "Someone gots to pay!"
Zimmerman will go down as the murderer the state run media labeled him as while the grieving parents live they high life off of the blood money they got because they knew they had no case from the get go.
Better settle now, before they lose the trial. Why did the Homeowner’s association settle? Cowardice?
Let’s suspend judgement until the amount is known — the $ million-plus figure obviously comes from Crump, the same person who wants the real settlement amount kept secret. My guess is that the insurer settled for a relatively small sum (say $75,000), to get themselves out of the whole issue, and that Crump “implied without saying” the larger amount to his media helpmates.
Insurers who play the settlement game are why so many bogus, predatory lawsuits are filed. The pimps get richer while the companies just jack up the rates, which we all pay in higher prices.
