Social Security was frozen for 3 years under Obama.....But certainly not the prices of everyday things, like gasoline & electricity and food.

We finally got an increase——

Mine was a whole $18 a month. My auto insurance & my land line only phone bill has already eaten up $14 of that $18.

I am working on a very special place to celebrate with the remaining $4.

I was active duty 1963-1967, the first full year active duty was 1964, that year I earned $1060. You read that right $1064 for the full year. Indicative of the other 3 years earnings.

When I applied for S.S. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that all I had to do was show my DD214 and adjustments would be made to compensate for those very low earning years, so I proudly showed them my DD214.

It added a grand total of $13 per month to my S.S. check. Don’t get me wrong, I’d rather have it than not but really $13 for four years of my life?
