That would be 2007, right after Obama and the RATs took over Congress. Up until then, the economy was in pretty good shape except for the Fed shenanigans and predatory lending practices.

There never has been. There cannot be. Compromise with evil and you get more evil. A cursory look at the last 40 years should be all the evidence of that one would require. But you would have me compromise yet again, even more. And next election again. And the next! You will ALWAYS require that compromise. And I will never move. not one friggin inch. Knock yerself out. It won't change a dang thing. Next time you'll likely be voting for Jeb, and I will be voting for somebody else. Then comes the hissy fit (when you LOSE yet again). The stomping and more screaming, and throwing dirt in the air. Like that'll make a difference. In fact, it IS making a difference. It drove me out of the Republican Party, *never* to return... Me and many more- There are more Conservatives standing outside the party than in it.
