Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy compared the head of the National Rifle Association to “clowns at the circus” for his comments about the state’s new gun laws.
Mr. Malloy, a Democrat, signed legislation last week that requires background checks on all firearm purchases, bans magazines with more than 10 rounds of ammunition and adds more than 100 weapons to the state’s ban on semiautomatic rifles often called assault weapons.
NRA Chief Executive Officer Wayne LaPierre said the legislation only makes “the law books thicker for the law-abiding people.”
“The criminals, the drug dealers, the people that are going to do horror and terror, they aren’t going to cooperate,” Mr. LaPierre told Fox News.
Mr. Malloy said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union,” that the legislation is “probably a little tougher on everybody” and added about the NRA chief: “I mean, you know, Wayne reminds me of the clowns at the circus. They get the most attention, and that’s what he’s paid to do.”
The governor said the gun Adam Lanza used in the Newtown, Conn., school shooting in December was bought legally in the state despite its assault weapons ban. “There were loopholes in it that you could drive a truck through,” he said.
The NRA did not immediately comment on Mr. Malloy’s remarks.
Mr. Malloy offered more on Mr. LaPierre: “I mean, this guy is so out of whack. It’s unbelievable. Ninety-two percent of the American people want universal background checks. I can’t get on a plane as the governor of the state of Connecticut without somebody running a background check on me.”
“Why should you be able to buy a gun or buy, you know, armor-piercing munitions?”

Isn’t this guy also known as Mallethead Malloy because he is so dyslexic as to be almost illiterate and generally speaking is the dumbest clown in the room unless he is in a room with an infant?
We have some of the strictest gun laws in the country, yet Newtown still happened. Obviously we need MORE LAWS!!!

Not quite. We still are allowed guns. I don't think they will ever ban them. They are trying to make it hard to own them.

Not really sure who you are talking about. This is an article about Conn gov, Dannel Malloy. Maryland’s gov is Martin O’Malley, which is who I’m guessing you mean.

Yeah now we need a federal background check to get a certification to buy ammo here in Conn. Not many people seemed to know about that nifty part of this gun-grab legislation. Or if they did, there wasn’t much noise about it from what I could tell.
On Laura Ingraham’s show I heard the minority leader of the GOP in the state Senate...he voted for this, and said that they started (basically) at outlawing and confiscation of guns from Malloy et al, and the GOP talked them down to this skid mark of a bill. He seemed somehow proud of it and kind of guffawed at standing on principle.
Is it any wonder the Dems are in a super-majority here?

The question was:
Would you rather have a double root canal or undergo a background check.
I am MORE concerned over the 8 % that opted for the root canal.
Gov. Malloy provides a demonstration of the yawning gulf that separates the elitest left from ordinary Americans.
He does so without realizing it, having expressed himself among the company of like-minded elitest leftists on CNN.
An attorney and a lifelong Democrat politician, Malloy has no allegiance to the Constitution and no respect for opposing views.
He knows that the low information folks will believe him.
