At least six states are considering new taxes or fees on firearms or ammunition as a way to help pay for the consequences of gun violence.

Gun and ammunition purchases are already subject to local sales taxes, and manufacturers pay a federal excise tax 10% for pistols and revolvers, 11% for other guns, shells and cartridges that funds wildlife programs.

The black market boys are lovin’ this. Public servants. Always out to get somebody else’s money. They shouldn’t be elected, they should be thrown in prison where the crooks belongs.

Isn’t it unconstitutional to tax one of our “rights”?

Communism spreading at a tremendous rate. Within a year I suspect at least one third of the States will be under this type of communists control.

Funny how we do not tax gays for their higher health care costs due to their lifestyle choice...

Can states put a $1000 tax on each abortion?

Liberals never think the policies they use on others will ever be used against them...

Raise the price enough with taxes and you invite the underground economy and criminal enterprises to fulfill the demand.

How will they tell if the tax has been paid on a case of bullets? Imprint individual casings? Tax stamp on the outside of the box?

Nothing but a money grab!

Just like tobacco and alcohol taxes.

You darn right.

This would be no different than the old "poll tax", which once once used by Democrats to prevent the poor and minorities from voting.

I just had an idea.

If you vote in Texas in a primary, they stamp your Voter registration, Dem or Rep. When you go to buy a gun or ammo, you must produce a voter registration or pay a 100% tax. If it says Dem, you get taxed. If you don't have one, you get taxed. If you say "nunya bidness" you get taxed. If you produce a voter reg with the Rep stamp, you get 50% off.

Problem solved. In fact, many problems solved.

First...I’m in total agreement with the notion that free and unencumbered ownership of firearms is the right of every person.
That being said, the imposition of regulation, taxes, restrictions and other ‘impediments’ to the free exercise of the Second Amendment, AT THE STATE LEVEL, are within the foundational principles of these United States, as long as such impediment is not in contravention of that State’s Constitution.
It is not logically acceptable to be an avowed ‘States Rights’ advocate and then attack the States that choose to act as such.
Falling prey to the incorporationist arguments that the Federal Constitution can rightly be extended to anything beyond the enumerated powers is a fool’s game that plays into the libtard agenda.
Admittedly, this is not an easy position to take. I look forward to the responses of the fine legal minds on FR. I would prefer to be proven wrong...

Documentation File on the harmful impact of the Counterculture of Communist Obamanation on Freedom of Choice in America.

Portions of this File are also useful for the Impeachment of the legal citizen of Indonesia Barry Soetoro, also known as B. Hussein Obama, a confirmed Communist.

And the libs whined avout “poll taxes” when some people would actually have pay to have avital piece of ID so they could vote.

Typical liberal mentality- laws arent meant to be followed unless it benefits only them!

I think that was the idea behind newspapers being nontaxable.

Of course, they wound up being taxed. That might have been the camel’s nose under the tent.
