All the NRA needs to do is say anyone who votes for this will turn into a F. This will stop these politicians in their tracks. If they don't, no more donations.

a compromise bill to expand background checks to firearms sales at gun shows and on the Internet. A compromise is a settlement of differences by mutual concessions.
It seems like the only compromises ever made are that we give up a smaller amount of our freedom instead of a much larger amount of our freedom. Inch by inch they tighten the noose.

The only comprehensive common sense change is to allow oldsters to fool around with "silencers" for free.
It'd reduce the costs of Zer0Care.

Criminal and insane asylum check if you wish to buy a gun,, ok, i understand.
If it’s no, then no sale could be completed. If a person is approved, the goverment has NO BUSINESS finding out what gun was purchased, or if the person even completed the sale at all.
This is a registration effort leading to confiscation.
Background checks of individuals have nothing to do with the gun they may or may not wish to buy.

If Republicans are of the belief that there must be an up-or-down vote on bills that violate the most unambiguous part of the Bill of Rights, then what is the purpose of serving in the Senate?

R’s are being played. They will vote aye to send this milquetoast background check bill to the floor for debate, where Reid will insert Difi’s ban as an amendment that only needs 51 votes. Only the House can stop this now, and the 2014 elections.

“... working on a compromise proposal that could draw Republican support “
There’s that COMPROMISE word again, the one the Republicans so love.
The weak, timid Republican bastards have COMPROMISED our country and freedoms down the poop-hole of history.
It’s time to lead, not follow or be politically correct so that both parties in the discussion can feel that they walk away winning at least 50% of whatever was discussed. However, they never think of the other 50% they lost.
True leaders NEVER COMPROMISE!
