University of Mobile’s Cross Country Coach, who was near the finish line of the Boston Marathon when a series of explosions went off, said he thought it was odd there were bomb sniffing dogs at the start and finish lines.

Probably not odd. They probably were sweeping the area early but unfortunately that doesn’t catch someone who brings in something after they finish checking, like in a backpack.

Dogs can’t sniff out something that wasn’t there. For all we know, they cleared the area and sent the dogs home before the terrorists planted the bombs.

It is common to see these dogs in place when you have these type of large activities occurring though I would have been a little bit nervous to hear over the loud speaker; not to worry, it was only a drill.
