Even Hugh Hewitt and Andrew Sullivan (I erroneously typed Dennis Prager instead of Mr. Hewitt on an earlier thread when I accounted which broadcasts I'd been listening to today) discussed the timing in the race. They mentioned that typically the race's top placers are from Africa. And if you pause until later when the bulk of the running start to arrive, it may be possible to increase the likelihood of US runner/spectator carnage.

Just pure speculation on my part, but maybe they figured there would be a larger number of runners crossing the finish line at that point, as opposed to the "elite" finishers, resulting in a larger number of casualties.

If the bomber was an angry white male his picture would have already been released and blasted across the net. The fact that the MSM have not been given a picture should tell you all you want to know.

I watched the video over and over of that runner crumpling to the ground.

Each time it looked like a projectile of some kind was blazing right at him. He seems to put his left hand out almost as if to "catch" or "stop" it. Then he goes down.

Did anyone else notice this?

I'd love to see those couple frames in slo-mo.

What’s amazing to me is that he wasn’t hurt (other than scraping his leg or knee - and his hearing still being off in the one ear from the noise).

He was 2nd (or 4th - depending on the article you read) in his time class and went on to finish the 12 feet or whatever was left once he realized he wasn’t really hurt. He said he thought a bomb went off and he was going to be dead, then he realized he wasn’t and didn’t think it was and so kept going after being helped up.

I was so floored to see all the articles about him (and I know there’s audio or video...I just was trying to read not get out headphones to listen!) and that he was so uninjured because the way he crumpled like that was just...unlike anything I’ve really seen before.

Have you seen any of the stuff about/with him?

It was very interesting reading his account, because, like you said, that video is just so peculiar because it does seem like something goes right at him before he goes down.

Maybe Time Magazine can 'lighten' his skin for their front cover... then NBC can doctor up some tapes...CNN will talk it up like he might be conservative, middle class and white ... horror of horrors -they'll have him a Tea Partier in no time. Well... until the FBI catches some radical Muslims who actually did the killing.

I saw this man speak tonight. He is 76 and the force of the blast knocked him down. He was not hit with shrapnel. A policeman wanted to put him in a wheelchair but he assured the cop he was okay and he walked six more blocks to his hotel and he and wife are there now.

Law enforcement has told the runners to stay here and stay in their hotel. Perhaps they want to interview some of these runners.
