I saw one report in which law enforcement officials were said to have claimed that nothing was found at the Saudi’s apartment to connect him to the crime. If true, why were officials seen carrying bags of “evidence” out of the apartment?

You silly goose! Don't you understand that the officials were so embarrassed about profiling a Muslim that they were just cleaning his apartment and taking out the trash as penitence for suspecting the poor innocent student?

I saw one report in which law enforcement officials were said to have claimed that nothing was found at the Saudis apartment to connect him to the crime. If true, why were officials seen carrying bags of evidence out of the apartment? At this early stage of the investigation, the cops/agents who executed the search warrant would have cast a wide net, and taken just about anything they found from the apartment that could possibly be evidence, or could possibly be linked to the bombing. Things like the guy's computer, bags of clothing (to check for residue), cookware, etc. Doesn't mean that what they found was ultimately linked to the bombing.
