After more than 200 rounds were traded over several minutes, some officers were out of ammunition and charged the brothers' position with their police car. The vehicle was disabled by gunfire from the Mercedes. Mr Kitzenberg said he saw one of the shooters toss a metallic object - possibly a pressure-cooker bomb similar to the ones used in the marathon attack - in the direction of the police line. It rolled a few metres before detonating harmlessly.

Tamerlan Tsarnaev, now out of his car, tried to lob a pipe bomb at police, but it exploded in his hand. Police tackled and tried to subdue him while he was firing a pistol.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, apparently intending to help his brother, tried to ram the officers with the Mercedes. Instead, the officers lunged out of the vehicle's path and he ran over his brother and dragged him along the street before speeding off with police in pursuit.

That is not bruising, not road pizza. If a tire with a Mercedes attached ran across his face, neck and shoulder, it would crush bones.....badly.

Oh really? What sort of uniform was he wearing? What flag did he fight under? What government does he fight for and where is their "declaration of war" against the children of Boston?

He is totally devoid of honor and deserves what ever punishment befalls him. The only downside of this is the Massachusetts does not have the death penalty and so the good citizens of MA will have to support this smirking waste of flesh for the next 60 or so years (unless he meets his doom at the hands of a fellow prisoner).

Hmmmm... too bad, doesn’t look like he blew either hand off with that bomb.

My guess would have been that the tire ran upwards along his body, squeezing blood to his face, "vascularly".

Alternatively, had he been alive at that point—and dragged—a hot catalytic converter could have burned his face.
