The Kennedy meth
New York Post ^ | April 21, 2013 | Larry Getlen

Posted on 04/21/2013 7:27:11 AM PDT by Zakeet

In 1962, at the Carlyle Hotel in New York, a man “peeled off his clothing and began prancing around his hotel suite.” His bodyguards were cautiously amused, until the man “left the suite and began roaming through the corridor of the Carlyle.”

The man in question was delusional, paranoid and suffering a “psychotic break” from the effects of an overdose of methamphetamine.

He was also the president of the United States.

The reason for John F. Kennedy’s bizarre behavior was that, according to an explosive new book, the president was — unbeknownst to him, at first — a meth addict.

The man who supposedly made him so was Max Jacobson, a doctor who had invented a secret vitamin formula that gave people renewed energy and cured their pain, and was given the code name “Dr. Feelgood” by Kennedy’s Secret Service detail.

This formula was actually methamphetamine, and over the course of a decades-long practice, Jacobson became doctor to the stars, making unknowing drug addicts out of a long list of the famous and distinguished, including JFK and his wife, Jackie, Marilyn Monroe, Mickey Mantle, Eddie Fisher, Truman Capote and many more.

I've been just a looped from time to time as JFK was ... and it hasn't affected me either!

Thou shall not speak evil of the sainted kennedy clan and camelot. The more I learned over the years the more I disliked the whole bumch (intentional mis-spell) and their fellow liberal entourage.

What if JFK had taken a detour in Dallas and got nominated for a second term only to have this news come out in the early fall of 1964? If the media couldn’t successfully spin it, hello, President Goldwater!

I believe meth in its earliest form was developed by the nazis.

Personally I suspect a good many world leaders use stimulants pretty regular.

Me, I’d be known as the president who takes an afternoon nap.

Pelosi, OTOH, is likely on MDMA. That goofy grin is ever-present.

Is this another "Kennedy Infulence" to our Culture via their Politics and Policy to add to this list, and correct me if I am wrong...

* Our current immgration mess was in part to Teddy being a big proponent of what was done in 1965(?).
* JFK hanging the Cuban Resistance out to dry with no Air-Support.
* JFK letting Federal workers and others Unionize via Executive Order.
* If I am not mistaken and correct me if I an in error, "The Great Society" was not LBJ's idea(s) but a carry over from JFK.
* Teddy fought for years for Universal Health Care, the Joke is on us post his dirt nap with Romneycare / Obamacare...

Did I forget any of their "Gifts" to us???

Probably because he lived better than most meth heads do and had the best medical staff money could buy.

It's smoking meth that messes up the teeth.

He was surely being injected.

My midday meetings would include a business lunch with foreign diplomats, followed by a two hour siesta for all who wished it. Follow that with a cup of coffee and back to business refreshed.

Interesting. I'd heard a little of this decades ago. Kennedy also took corticosteroids for his Addison's disease. I've been on steroids before, and if you are on them for awhile, they lead to wakefulness, a feeling of more energy and personality issues (irritiability, impatience, rage). The film Bigger Than Life, starring James Mason as a man who becomes psychotic after taking a new 'wonder drug’ (steroids) was one of the first times that steroids were publicised.

Considering that Kennedy was being pumped full of both steroids and speed, we essentially had a psychotic POTUS in the early 60s. If he hadn't been killed, I think he may have died in office from an overdose.

The man was terribly ill and should never have been elected. Would not have been if the press hadn’t covered for him like they do Zero.
He had Addison’s disease, needed large doses of Steroids to function, which can cause psychotic behavior and mania. on top of that also received large amounts of Amphetamines. This was the guy with his finger on the trigger during the Berlin and Cuban Missle Crisis.

The similarities to Hitlers doctor Morell and his “vitamultin” injections (amphetamine and vitamins) are striking..

IIRC, Calvin Coolidge did take afternoon naps.

Didn’t hurt the skyrocketing economy of the Roaring Twenties one bit. If Silent Cal didn’t coin “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”, he sure governed by it.

Meanwhile another JFK drug tale, thank goodness long after the fact. What if the Soviets had known this cr@p at the time it was going on? Khrushchev had already found Kennedy useful so it beggars imagining.
