Over the course of the last month, while Americans were distracted with the threat of nuclear war on the Korean peninsula and the devastation wrought by the Boston bombings, President Obama was quietly working behind the scenes to craft laws and regulations that will further erode the Second Amendment.
Congress, and thus We the People, may have unequivocally rejected federal legislation in March which aimed to outlaw most semi-automatic rifles, restrict magazine capacity, and force national registration, but that didnt stop the President from ceding regulatory control over firearms importation to the United Nations just two weeks later. What the UN Arms Trade Treaty, passed without media fanfare by 154 counties, would do is to restrict the global trade of, among other things, small arms and light weapons. Opponents of the treaty argue that loopholes within the new international framework for global gun control may make it illegal for Americans to purchase and import firearms manufactured outside of the United States.
To further his gun-grabbing agenda, however, President Obama and his administration didnt stop there.
Now theyre taking another significant step against Americans right to bear arms and theyre doing it through Presidential Executive Action, a strategy that, once again, bypasses Congressional oversight and the legislative process.
it appears that the BHO Administration is taking executive action on firearms importation. Take a few minutes to read this: After Senate setback, Obama quietly moving forward with gun regulation. Here is the key portion of the article:

Dirty...who cares. AK platforms can handle it. It's good for hurling lotsa lead down range...it's all good brotha.
I heard some noise on the news the other day about Christie. It’s one McCain after another.
Well then. If you depend on clean rounds and they’re not and they foul your weapon you might reconsider.
“B. very few in the US Military will fire on citizens...”
The Soviet military wouldn’t do this either, which contributed to the relatively bloodless overthrow of the Soviet government...
$#89 / 1000 is a great price? HAH Well, if it’s about to be banned from import, perhaps it is a great price ...
Make that $389/1000 at my local wholesaler!
bflr
I think the libs are fooling themselves just like King George, Santa Anna, the Japs and Sadam did. “The American people won’t fight”. Some won’t, but enough will.
I bought 1000 rounds of 7.62x39 last week for $400; no purchase limit. Is that a reasonable price given the times?
If that half black son of a bitch works for you then you need to suspend him without pay. Kapisch? By the people for the people my ass....
Actually, yes I have. That is the going price and has been for some time at my local shop for upper and lower forearm furniture. Tapco brand to be exact.
All executive actions can be repealed by the next executive,Im sure Hillary will cancel those actions
329 and dropping. :-) The days of cheap ammo (like about 1 year ago) are gone for the foreseeable future. We are seeing the true colors of our so-called leadership, on both sides. Dollar cost averaging—no longer just for investing, but now for buying ammo as well.
I’m pretty sure my platform can cycle just fine. It’s kinda like a poodle vs a bulldog.
One’s nice and perty, the other, rough and rugged.
Steel case Ruskie cycles beautifully.
It’s stunning how overlapping things are being put into place.
First, the government starts buying massive amounts of ammo, basically sucking all the oxygen out of domestic ammo production for civilian gun owners.
Now they shut down the foreign pipeline.
Result: supply and demand kicks in. Demand skyrockets while supply plummets. Any ammo that makes it out onto the civilian market will be priced so high as to be prohibitive to just about everyone.
Who needs background checks and registration when the average firearm is reduced to being nothing more than a blunt force trauma instrument?
Great post. Biggest story “never” told.
$400 is a bit overprice. You can usually do better online.
In a normal marked, before all this panic happened, steel-cased 7.62x39 was about $110-$130/500 rounds. Classic arms has a pretty good deal right now, for example:

When buying online check the shipping costs. Some sellers get you with exorbitant shipping/handling costs.
I have bought from classic arms. They are pretty good.
Try the Hornady practice steel-cased ammo — very good stuff for a decent price. I get excellent groups from it. I don’t worry too much about clean up because I only shoot it through my piston AR and not my DI gun.
Thanks. Hornady is right down the road but finding thier products locally is tough for some reason. I’ll look into those.
