Cascade still makes dishwasher powder with phosphates. I get mine at a local retaurant supply. It is in the familiar green box, labeled "Professional Formula."

I find using half the amount recommended by the dishwasher manufacturer does the best job.

One of my vendors makes household cleaners. I was talking to the owner at a show about a dishwasher additive to address the lack of TSP. Turns out she knows the chemist that developed Cascade. His comments were that the original formula was ideal, and the only change he would make was to use half as much as the instructions recommended.

The original formula is still available as a "commercial" product in something like a 5 pound box. My experiments with real TSP - not the substitute TSP - have been less than ideal.
