Okay, seriously, nowadays, I don’t understand why those who are homosexual can just come out, it’s not as if every gay newscaster gets stoned on his way home from work just for coming out. It’s also not as if every “coming out” politician gets it either. What’s all the need to just break up the relationship early on. I have had girlfriends who could break up with me in shorter times for reasons other than they’re being secret lesbians, in fact, none of them actually did. I have yet to see my wife come out and divorce me, although I would find that pretty odd considering she really put that effort in to help me find a better job, so that she could leave her job as an accountant and become an house Mom, most of the time, anyways.
Well said. Good question. From a media perspective, gays who come out are thought of as heroic.
I'll offer this:
No matter how many gay-friendly books and articles you read, no matter how many gay-friendly television shows you watch, no matter how many counselors and psychiatrists and pastors and friends and colleagues and activist groups you have surrounding you, repeating the mantra that homosexuality is healthy, wholesome, normal, and natural, you will ALWAYS and FOREVER know in some kernal of your consciousness that homosexuality is a perversion of human sexuality. It will ALWAYS bother you. And so it will take some nerve to come out publicly. Even if the entire world was free of so-called right-wing, hate-filled, homophobic, religious bigots.
