I'll never forget the first time I tried to find a liquor store to get some beer. I was told I had to go to The Beer Store. For anything else I had to go to the LCBO.

That would be The Liquor Control Board of Ontario. I was gobsmacked. Liquor Control Board? Why not just call it the Alcohol Directorate?

LOL, amazing, isn’t it? Same thing in Vancouver, BC. FYI, those clerks at the register for the provincial liquor stores are effing’ unionized. There’s a reason why canadians cross the border into the US because it’s waaay cheaper for gas, groceries, food, clothes etc. Go to any border city and those gas garbage bins full of shoes? those are the discarded shoes by canadians and they wear the new ones they bought from the US so when they drive back, it will not be reported as duty.
