After that it almost sounds like she’s saying ‘stop firing’ and I think I also hear ‘I’m hit’. Tough situation and they certainly didn’t have long to respond.
The Boston cop who was shot by the bombers had a locking holster. I read he would have had to do 3 different things to draw his weapon. Seems like that delay would have gotten these 2 cops killed.
She tells dispatch that she’s hit and needs an ambulance. She must be the passenger officer. I counted about 17 continuous rounds from the officer on the drivers side. From the video, it does seem that she got about two hits on the suspect.
Had to listen a little more. She does say the words “stop firing.” He tells her to call for backup, and tells dispatch she’s hit and needs an ambulance. Normally, if there is a normal, this type of call should go out as shots fired, officers injured, suspect down, and then the location would be given. That would give dispatch and responding officers and the responding supervisor a lot more information than she gave when she said she was hit and needed an ambulance.
