“Is Cruz Our Best Hope?”
Yes.
If he runs the Democrats and the Media will suddenly rediscover the “natural born” clause, virtually overnight.
Should Ted Cruz manage to reach center stage in the next election cycle, expect that he will be unmercifully hammered in the press and by the Democrats for not being an “authentic” representation of Hispanic ethnicity.
But they fail to grasp that genetics or culture DOES NOT necessarily determine one’s outlook on the relationship of social, economic and moral standards to good conduct as a citizen of the United States of America.
For multi-ethnicity to be a virtue, it must embrace the core set of standards of individual liberty, the right to fail, and the will to seek redemption. If only skin color and origin of ancestry are to be the criteria for “multiple” constituencies, with a very narrow definition of the allowable opinions, and a quota for each representation is strictly enforced, then soon the other attributes disappear, replaced by a weird standard of political correctness, designed to keep dissidents isolated and the exercise of free speech hobbled with some kind of malicious consistency.
Dittos! The sooner we all coalesce around him the better too.
The rinos and GOPe will again try to split the conservative base by throwing too many conservative candidates into the primary mix again.
We need to be ready to do an end run around that strategy this time by all voting for the same person...hopefully Cruz IMHO.
He’ll be our best hope until he sneezes in the wrong directions and “conservatives” decide he’s a RINO. /s
