Nine days after Tebow was released by the New York Jets, it has become increasingly clear that the ultra-popular quarterback who has hijacked many a news cycle has no viable landing spot. No NFL team seems to want him — as a starter, backup, converted H-back or fake-punt decoy — and it's not like he's fending off big-money offers from Canada, either. Now, here's the interesting part: Tebowmania is at least partly to blame.

1989 - Andre Ware - Don't even ask (Lions)
1990 - Ty Detmer - Not really a bust, but a career backup.

1996 - Danny Wuerffel - Bust
2000 - Chris Weinke - Bust
2001 - Eric Crouch - Switched positions and retired.

Tebow has fought to play QB since his pee wee days. He went to the worst team in his county so he could play QB in high school. They won the state championship his senior year.
He had a winning record in Denver including a big playoff win. A recent Forbes poll found him the most influential person in sports and that's why he wants to play QB. He's not doing this for himself or because he's stubborn. He could be making a lot more money in baseball with a lot less grief.

During his short stints in the NFL, he always performed well on the field but often rode the bench and just never got the opportunity he deserved.
So, he could not unseat Greg McElroy as the backup let alone Sanchez as the starter, yet he is going to challenge Brady??

Tim has refused to play any other position than QB. How stupid is that? I think he’d make a good slot receiver - he does have size and the ability to make the first guy miss.
He’s reaping what he sowed. There’s lots of Christian pro athletes, but they don’t make a show of it.

Only about 1.7% of college football players go pro. Regardless of how popular, or their success in college, it is exponentially difficult to progress to the next level.
Yes, God forbid pro football become any less brutal while still retaining the basic game! Have to have those bone crunching plays for the public!

Lots of pro athletes do charitable causes without shows.
I am a Pats fan. That brings with it the usual Brady/belicheck hating...which I understand.
But what I like about them is that there is less showboating and chest pounding. They are workmanlike in their process.
The same with the Celtics. They have always been about “team”, which was evident this year without Rondo.
