I’ve got many acquaintances here, mostly work related...but friends not so much...people just don’t get out and about together as they once did.
I was accustomed to getting together with friends after work...but they all go home here when the work day is done! It’s not a very social area...mostly private clubs.
I’ve been here five years now...the longest in one area has been 7 yrs. other than when raising my family.
I forgot where you’re at Onyx...but I remember you were visiting between both areas...do you still do that?
Yes, I still travel to my hometown, (San Diego) at least twice a year. I live in the wonderful, deep South: Mississippi.
I haven’t been overseas , and with the way the world is now am not excited to do so either.
I’ve visited the Vatican on line...thru videos and tours etc. It’s all BIG! lol....
I liked it when they showed the Popes apartment...the one he didn’t want..and I can’t say I don’t blame him...”official” places never have tha “touch” of home.
Where did he finally end up having his residence?
I toured the Vatican the same way!
I don’t know where Pope Francis resides.
San Diego is a beautiful City though...same with Providence R.I. where I once lived...but not a place I wanted to stay in for the mindset there.
I think we all ought to move to the southern states!
Yep. CA is way too expensive now and also too crowded.
I remember him saying he the Popes residence was just too big....and he returned to the other accomodations given for visiting Priests for a time.
He seems to be a humble man and willing to carry a big stick if he has too. I hope the best for him, but he does have a challenge moving hearts and minds of those not so humble he must work with. I do hope he succeeds.
Have to admit he’s the first Pope that impressed me Onyx. He didn’t seem to think he’d be appointed as Pope...and I think it’s those like that that seem to accomplish the most.
Right, but I don’t know whether he relented and moved into the Pope’s apartment or not. IIRC, that apartment is set up so that a doctor and medical team and a small hospital of sorts is immediately adjacent.
Well, maybe he did move there then...maybe they could cozy it up a bit for him. It sure was rather stark! But it does seem official buildings are like that.
One of my long time best friends lives in Carmel. But then she and her husband are pretty well off....she loves it there...and yet they are considering moving to the mid-west...he’s retired now and wants to lower their expenses...like you said...very expensive to live there.
I have no idea and I get all of his daily Face Book posts.
Ah.
