Ron Paul: Gang of 8 Hiding National ID Card in Immigration Reform
Economic Policy Journal ^ | Thursday, May 9, 2013 | Robert Wenzel

Posted on 05/09/2013 5:54:22 PM PDT by True Grit

Ron Paul is robo-calling his supporters to sign a petition against the inclusion of a National ID card in immigration reform negotiations. From the petition:

Right now, freedom-stealing Senators John McCain (R-AZ) and Chuck Schumer (D-NY), banding together with other statists from both parties, are scheming to sneak a massive power grab into a new “immigration reform” bill.

If passed, it would require every American to obtain a National ID card to work legally in the U.S. – and you can bet it will be only a matter of time until they’re required even for simple purchases.

Ron Paul calls the current proposals “by far the worst national ID card the statists have come up with yet.” And he blames the “Gang of 8,” which includes Lindsey Graham, John McCain, and Chuck Schumer, for working with Obama to “sneak a national ID” into an immigration reform bill. ”A statist’s dream,” Paul decries.

According to Paul, the national ID would create a new federal database with biometric information on all citizens and those who work within the United States. He claims that, in short time, it would be illegal for anyone to have a job without an ID card. “Every time any citizen applies for a job, the government will know…[and] once the government bureaucrats know exactly how we run our lives, they will try and control them.”

He warns that “the government will know what you eat, drink, and read. Once they know this information, they will regulate everything” from your food to your education, depriving us of our freedom. Issues like amnesty are just being used as cover. The National ID is what the “statists” really want.

And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Appears this is where thing are headed. Counterfeiters will make a joke out of what ever card they come out with which will lead to the mark.

I am really surprised that the LIBS didn’t push for the National ID when the R’s were clamoring for ID’s required for voting.

I thought at the time that is what they would end up doing as it (National ID) has been being ‘bounced around’ for several years and this ‘Picture ID for voting’ would have, - at least IMNSHO - been the perfect time for them to bring it up.

With more and more states GIVING Drivers Licenses to ILLEGALS, how is a businessman supposed to be able to cut the illegals from the legals when the same STATE that is issuing ‘THEM’ ID, will, along with the FED (who says you can’t question a potential employee) fine you and shut down your business for hiring ‘ILLEGALS’ when THEY are providing the ILLEGALS the tools to survive, DL, checking account, rent etc etc etc

With all the free stuff they do pretty well here if they don’t have a job.

> What’s a drivers license and social security card?
Counterfeiters working full time counterfeiting green cards, driver license, social security and about anything else you want. What ever they come out with won’t be worth two cents.

It depends on what types of information they relate to. A social security card is tied to identifying information with the SSA but it’s also used to fle taxes and apply or just about any type loan or service. A drivers license with the state DPS. But imagine a centralized database with a national ID card that is linked to multiple agencies such as SSA, IRS, FINCEN, DPS, DHS, Dept. of Human Services, etc...it would have the capability to store a huge amount of personal data about every citizen that could be used as a tool of oppression. Say you are driving past an RFID sensor on a speeding camera and it reads your plate number and you are speeding slightly, you get a ticket in the mail within the week. In fact you get several. Or you go to the grocery store and because your last checkup indicated that you were 15 lbs overweight you cannot buy that Snickers candy bar because of passage of the Michelle Obama Fat Reduction Act of 2015. Or you can’t buy a handgun because of your political views or recent mental evaluation that is now mandatory via the Lanza Act of 2014. Those that can’t see the harm that a National ID card can do lack imagination and underestimate the degree of deception that a tyrannical government willt exercise when they want to siphoni more taxes and penalties from its citizen slaves, particularly when it comes to using technology to increase and utomate their efficiency in fleecing you.

True.
The REAL BONANZA is when they are getting the freebies AND working under the table.
‘WE’ allow 6 people to buy or rent a house, and each of the 6 has 3 or 4 ‘dependent’s’, they will sneak others in and you end up with a house that would rent for say 4000 a month, have 10 people paying 400 a month with all (or many) getting food stamps, welfare, etc etc.
That is why you see all the later model cars and pickups parked on the lawn or the front and rear lawn paved for parking in a single family house neighborhood.
By the time enough people ‘COMPLAIN’, they are entrenched, have been paying their rent and are harder than hell to ‘move off the dime’.

Can’t we just return McCain to Viet Nam marked refused and put him back on the rack? I would be happy to contribute to the restocking fee...

A national ID card could also be used to easily limit voting to actual citizens, and to also prevent people from voting multiple times.

I am not sure I am against this.

“Like identification marks on the right had or the forehead?”

That is where it will end up but since the anti-Christ hasn’t made himself known I doubt this particular move is the mark.

I could be a precursor.

Oh but they won’t require the national id for voting!
