In the letter from the State Department, which can be read in full at Forbes, the Government explains that it wants to review whether the designs are in compliance with arms export control laws

By what authority do they "request" that a file be removed while they are deciding whether that file violates export laws? Those currently in charge of what was supposed to be a "government of the people" disgust me.

There are actually 16 drawing files for the various parts, not just 1

There is one .zip file with them all and a few others.

The gun is now in the wind with ton of torrent seeders.

It is probably the same laws that restrict exporting missle technology and such. The law probably directly lists data files as technology that is included in the law. But the problem is not the law, it’s the misapplication of the law. It will probably go all the way to the supreme court and who know how they will rule.

In the meantime, the files will exist and will be sent around the world.
