Maybe they believe the media line that the Tea Party is unpopular with the public, so this won't hurt them. After all, Clinton got away with using the IRS against his political opponents. It's only an impeachable offense if done by a Republican President.

Someone on FNC today about the IRS passing along information about who donated to Tea Party-type groups to liberal organizations so that they could then harass those donors. That sounds like typical Democrat behavior.
