As a young fellow of 18 heading off to boot camp I was a VERY NAIVE lad, I used to believe in statesmen who sought office only for the good they could do for their fellow citizens. I now consider such creatures to be in a class with Unicorns or Mermaids. There is no room for honest people in the current Washington climate. I cannot imagine how someone who went there as an honest person could ever remain an honest person. You cannot drag a den of thieves up to your level, they will drag you down to theirs.
Very true statement there! And you may have to lower your standards just to participate! It’s not about whats good for America anymore It’s whats best for the Congresman’s or Senator’s bottom line!
