(Update) Cornyn and Cruz: It’s too early to condemn Holder on AP phone record seizures
Houston Chronicle ^ | 5-15-2013

“I don’t want to jump to judgment here because many of us did call on the administration to investigate leaks; I am struck by what appears to be a very broad net and not a very targeted look,” said Sen. Cornyn, Buzzfeed reports.

He said the best approach would to bring Attorney General Eric Holder before the Senate Judiciary committee. Holder is coming before the House Judiciary Committee Wednesday afternoon.

“The problem is, we have so many things happening now that cause people to question the motivation and the actions of the executive branch that it’s easy to sort of jump to conclusions that this was wrong. I’m not yet convinced about that,” Cornyn said.

Cruz told Buzzfeed that though he’s skeptical of the DOJ’s motives, senators “should await the facts of the specific predicate for that investigation.”

“Given the apparent breadth of the taps into communications with some 20 reporters, it raises real questions as to whether this was a targeted investigation or something broader that was not respecting the important First Amendment role of the media,” Cruz said.

I think Cruz is being shrewd, you never know this could all be a “Trap” or “Honeypot” to take attention away from that Ben Ghazi Feller....

Maybe rope-a-dope?

Get Holder there under oath and let Cruz have at him. That could be fun...

Based on the 0.0001% chance that somebody may have been leaking our Nuclear Missile Launch Codes to the AP...

Ugh...I didn't realize Cornball is the new Senate Minority Leader (saw it at link). Here's also what Cruz said:

Cruz told Buzzfeed that though he’s skeptical of the DOJ’s motives, senators “should await the facts of the specific predicate for that investigation.”

The only problem is that the government owes the CITIZENS the presumption of innocence. The only way to fully obey the spirit of that principle is if anyone who works for the government gets the presumption of GUILT unless and until the evidence shows their innocence.

There’s a spelling error on your otherwise excellent artwork. The correct spelling of the department name is “Just Us”.

I found the graphic in a search or it would say “The Just Us Dept”. :-)

Excellent point, Cruz should frame the investigation and control it's direction and scope, never allow your adversary to do that.
