So what? Apple supports the Rats. So did Microsoft under Clinton. Maybe the libertarian in Paul is appealing to the “Apples” of the U.S. but I wouldn’t hold-or waste- my breath.
I’m not sure Apple is not more of a Chinese success story.
our government works hard at running private companies and their employees out of the country.
They have successfully navigated the minefield set for businesses by legislators to fleece businesses of their revenue.
Show where they broke the law and then hold hearings.
I’m not an apple fan, but I support businesses in the war congress has declared on them.
Rand 2016!
One of the most Pro 2A people out there.
no fan of apple (I have one too), but I”m a big fan of blasting the average senator in general! ;)
Rand is absolutely correct. It is the fiduciary duty of a corporation and its’ officers to maximize return to the investors/shareholders, to the fullest extent possible within the Law. Apple did that.
The Dems just don’t like that they’ve been beaten at their own game. . .
During the hearing just now, Mclame, the lead RINO, shot off his worthless mouth ttaking up for the Dem chair Levin about not being a bully.
Leave it to Ol Juan Mclame to stick by the Demoncrats instead of someone like Rand
By reducing the taxes Apple has to pay, it is able to save more, productively expend more, and increase its capital accumulation. These are highly beneficial to production. They increase demand for capital goods and accumulation of capital goods and increase demand for labor. Increase in demand for capital goods leads to increase in total ability to produce and total production, which leads to increased supply and lower prices to consumers. Increase in demand for labor leads to higher wage rates and increases in employment. All of these help raise the standard of living of the average wage earner.
Apple and Google supports the loons and fringes of the left, maybe he needs to shout how this Govt is breaking the law, this is not America, wiretapping phones, spying, cover ups, lies,
There are still American corporations that have an element of patriotism and desire for the USA to succeed and their policies reflect it.
Then there are global multinational corporations who could care less about the USA except as a place to market their products and lobby and corrupt our legislators. They are often foreigners who see our USA sovereignty as a thorn in their side. They will maneuver any which way they can to weaken sovereignty and avoid any kind of financial support for the USA. Instead of them paying their share, they finagle the politicians, and crony capitalist system, so taxpayers are forced to become part of their revenue stream and business plan...and it occurs through extortion and not sale of products.
We have complete departments in government working on behest of pols and dedicated to forcing taxpayers to subsidize Hollywood, pro sports, corporate expansion, banks. The business plan was once about risk reward with private money. Now it is about corporations bribing crooked pols who will give the corporations that pay no taxes our taxpayer money.
I put Apple in the latter.
Why isn’t Obama there? His recent tax return showed he used the same “gimmicks” Apple did to reduce his tax burden.
Every successful company is at risk of being bullied by the rats and their RINO accomplices. The government had already ruined AIG and its shareholders.
Carl Levin and his punk a$$ brother are leeches. John McCain is too. A bunch of worthless stupid hacks that could not run a lawn mowing service. They have no talent and never created, invented or ran anything of value. They are in the same league as your average welfare queen. And about as smart.
I’m convinced that at some point Carl Levin will be parting the hair under his arm pit up and over his head.
You know what the difference is between Carl Levin/John McCain and Rand Paul? Rand Paul can still get and erection. So can Ted Cruze. They are men. Most of Congress, and you can add the speaker of the house to the list, are wimpy little ants.
We had a congressional hearing Today where Apple was being berated for a tax code...the same tax code for which Senator’s campaign donations have benefited from every added page and for every so-called “loophole”.
It was the height of hipocracy.
And...John McCain is a disgraceful fool.
One more thing. During the time when Clinton was trying to bust up MSFT, Paul Allen said, “I can’t believe that our own government would do this to the company that enabled the economy we have today, that they’d go after a company that was started by a couple of 19 year olds.”
He was visibly dismayed by what was going down.
Apple’s real sin is making its expensive product with cheap Chinese labor.
I have finally found the silver lining to the Obama years: you no longer need to read Atlas Shrugged. It’s happening in real time. Good thing, because it’s a really long read that meanders around a good bit between the good parts.
