And this is how they plan to take guns away from free citizens.
There are very real mental illnesses - like Schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder (what my youngest son has) and BiPolar and clinical depression. These are real, biological illnesses of the brain and are also known to be genetic in nature. I teach a 12-week course called “Family to Family” to families who have s loved one with a serious mental illness. If anyone knows of a ffamily with an ill relative, please tell them about NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) and the Family to Family 12-week course.
Liberalism?
I’m not sure what scares me more. Mental illness, or the physicians they report to.
Some of the strangest people I’ve met worked in this profession.
Some of the nicest too. Just sayin...
Preppers=Hoarders. We are now all mentally ill.
But homosexuality, especially in males, is not, since 1973, abhorrent behavior even though their average life spans are 39 if they have AIDS and 41 if they don’t.
So, the above disgusting behavior is still not listed as a character and behavior order as it very well should be.
American Psychiatric Association should be ashamed of itself.
I happen to agree with them, to some extent.
HOARDING is a mental disorder. It means collecting stuff that has no real value today, or tomorrow, in any forseable circumstance.
However...
PREPPING is NOT a mental disorder. That means preparing for well-defined, possible, future situations - such as a hurricane, or an EMP blast. Having a bunch of empty (and moldy) soda bottles is NOT prepping. Having a bunch of freeze-dried food, water, and a water collection and purification system is prepping.
Lumping them together, as others have said, is simply a way to make it easier to take our guns away.
Of course they once again leave Homosexuality off the list of Psychiatric illness.
And whoever gets to define “hoarding” wins the game forever.
‘cause under 0bamacare these new diagnoses will be billable.
Krappy generalizations there...
My youngest is 25 and is a pretty well adjusted young man. He had seen another kid throw a fit on his mother when he was just older than two. So he tried it with me . . . twice. He had barely hit the floor in his tantrum when I scooped him up wearing his little britches out. He quickly learned that it was not a profitable tactic. And the whole family was better off for the lesson, including him.
If hoarding is a sickness, then the DHS is a very sick organization.
