You don’t have to imagine. They ARE waking up.

Re: fixing things ourselves

There is Scriptural doctrine regarding doing nothing but praying, then sitting waiting for God without using our minds, bodies, etc. We are to ask, like you say, for God’s blessing on our efforts. My tagline is designed to work for both believers and unbelievers, with, of course, the believers knowing that they need to pray for both guidance and help, and the unbelievers at least perhaps getting off the idea that politicians - even our “favorites” - are going to “fix” anything. It’s really intended to emphasize “the private sector” with the word “we”, but certainaly it includes all Americans, and those in government can do their part by doing all they can to put government back in its cage, even if that means leaving government service and embarking on a private sector career. WHISTLEBLOWING WOULD BE A GREAT SERVICE TO OUR NATION (hint, hint, for all you gubmint types reading this).

re: Casting dice

“We” don’t know what’s coming.

If you’re on a ship in the middle of the Pacific Ocean with hundreds of people and it starts to sink and it looks real bad and the crew all say the ship is sinking, who would sit there down below somewhere sulking ?

You’d try to help get everyone, obviously including yourself, off. Perhaps if there was not enough room in lifeboats some gallant fellows would give up their seats.

Say the crew says the ship will be completely under in 4 hours. You would not sit there and do nothing - despite the fact that it would appear that you only have hours to live.

Then, even at the 4-hour mark, stepping off the ship as it goes under, with no seat on a lifeboat (you’re gallant), you still would not give up.

Well, some people would become disheartened and give up, let’s face it.

But here’s the deal - it’s kind of foolish to give up. Because even after treading water for 28 hours, a ship may come along and save you. A rescue search plane may spot you, and dispatch a helicopter with those divers, and bingo, you’re saved !

Funny thing, though. If that ship is coming along... at the point your ship started to sink - that ship was ALREADY ON ITS WAY.

You just didn’t know it.

Simplistic analogy (not intended for a PhD dissertation) to illustrate the human perspective not knowing the future, which means to humans we have free will. We can do whatever we want. We just do not know how events will unfold. Who will walk past our house tomorrow, when we will get a flat tire, etc. But those things are already set in motion. We just can’t possibly gather and manage enough data in our minds to know much about the future as we look more than a few days ahead on the time horizon.

Reminds me of an old joke about the piano falling on the guy...

Well, the glory really needs to be God’s. It’s more like “Let’s put our hand in the Lord’s hand, then by all means get to work.”

"the seized phone records also included “records [that] relate to James’ parents’ home in Staten Island.”

Not sure this is anything new:

A) We already know the IRSS seized Rosen's phone records.

B) At some point he probably called his Dad to talk baseball.

So, those call records would have been included.

And, frankly, I’d forget about “dual audience” statements if you’re taking that tack. Speak to the Christians, who are most of FR’s audience. “Ourselves” has too much overtone of self idolatry, and anyhow it’s not true when divinely blessed effort is involved. God holds our hand, works through us. The meaning of our work is greatly magnified, if not also the scope and effectiveness of it.

But in a way you do have a point. FR seems 99% yacktivism sometimes.

Looks like FNC pandering to Obama did not work.

Instead of attacking Birthers, Free Republic, and other conservatives....Fox should have been after Obama from day one

I feel bad for what happened to Rosen and his family...but FNC attacked Birthers and supported Obama, and lost. Had they took the Eligibility story seriously...Obama would have not been re-elected

They are out of control. Why?, because they can and because no one except “enemy” conservatives say anything.

With no limitations, no real experiences to work from and the power to do anything they wish results in what is coming to a head these last weeks. Similar to FDR, he has packed his administration with professor types who have no real world backgrounds.

So easy for their reach to far exceed their grasp. That's why we are seeing it come unwound with different excuses every day.

NK already had tested two bombs before the conversation took place. So.....what's the big deal? NK might test a bomb? Probably a technical violation, maybe enough to call Stephen Kim in for "a counseling," ........but there's probably something else going on: What ELSE WAS ROSEN PROBING AT THE TIME?????

Seriously, Fox was under the same spell as most Republicans... navel gazing niceness. They weren’t really unusual. Anyhow, after crying over the spilt milk, whaddya do... how about getting out the MOP....

"KatiePavlich: Hardline phone lines of Fox News reporters at White House, Pentagon, and of Fox News executives monitored by DOJ. Amazing."

And the WH was monitoring Atkinsson of CBS...The Fast and Furious lead reporter. Was this all about F&F and trying to kill reorting on it?

And as to F&F, WHY do all these conservative bloggers talk about our Border Agent killed (which they SHOULD), but NEVER mentioned that the Mexican Senate's investigator estimated more than 200 Mexican citizens died from this idiocy in Mexico????? SOMEONE needs to spend a week in Mexico tracking down the story from that side of the border.

WHOA! Taxation & INTIMIDATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION.

DISMANTLE this POS TOTALITARIAN AGENCY. TREASON against innocent citizens.

Yes, certainly the Bible says the glory is always God’s.

IMHO...

We’re just in a position where there are many misguided Christians as well as outright unbelievers in America.

And we have to start somewhere, the ship is sinking.

If I’m manning the line where people are getting on lifeboats, I’m just putting them in as they queue up, I’m not saying “I will only deal with Christians who are true believers according to my denomination”.

That being said, as I hustled about trying to do my best to help the passengers on the sinking ship - it certainly would be a good time to pray with people and quote some appropriate Scripture to comfort and motivate and be an example.

The idea of someone else doing something is even, IMHO, a big problem in Churches. If, for example, I have some concerns about the teaching in my Church, I should not simply ignore them. “I” have to do something, i.e., discuss with pastor, self-study, find a new congregation or denomination, etc. Maybe I’m misguided, maybe the doctrine is misguided, but either way it’s a situation that needs attending to.

IMHO, many people have gotten stirred up a lot in the past few years but perhaps not enough see that the responsibility to change things falls on them; they feel powerless, don’t have ideas, etc. It’s just meant to be encouraging, i.e., “maybe I CAN do that”.

We have met the domestic enemy and it is not us. It's those damn socialists/totalitarians again.

Rico Act?

Racketeering is when organized groups run illegal businesses, known as “rackets,” or when an organized crime ring uses legitimate organizations to embezzle funds. Such activities can have devastating consequences for both public and private institutions.
