Inaccurate. The National Jewish Committee on Scouting is very religious - principally Reformed and Conservative branches of American Judaism.
Reformed and Conservative branches are the ultraliberals and the liberals. Bible-believing Jews are Orthodox. There is also an ultra-Orthodox sect called Hasidim. But even when I was growing up among Jews in the 50s, Reformed Jews ate pork and many were members of the Communist Party. Conservatives were pretty much assimilated Democrats. And that was then.
I say this with great respect for genuinely religious Jews who are family-supportive and socially conservative; I live near a huge Orthodox community even now, and know the difference. I also might add that most mainstream Protestant churches now are just social clubs, where the gospels or any sort of religious zeal are an embarrassment.
