Science said the Neanderthals died out and we were not descended from them.

More recently DNA has demonstrated that White Folks have the highest percentage of Neanderthal DNA, followed by East Asians, and finally Africans with little or no Neanderthal DNA.

It's good to be a Neanderthal!

I have 2.7% Neander per 23andme.com; they also say that Asians have the highest—up to 4 %. They place me in the Northern Euro group where the average is 2.6%. Again, according to 23andme.

The numbers are usually given the other way around, but maybe they're counting the Denisovian DNA as Neanderthal now.

Remember, it's good to be the King; it's good to be Neanderthal.

That is my contention too. Science is evolving and it is also subject to the same human biases and overstatements as any other field especially when political and cultural implications are involved.

I am in agreement with you. The part I disagree with is the field that is supposed to be built on asking questions and finding truth too often degenerates into a dogma that can not be questioned without facing great ridicule and taking both professional and personal risk.

The Science I fell in love with as a child was not the science we have today or maybe it was just I was too naïve to see the problems.
