Thanks dForest.

I guess these folks don’t realize PDS can be accurate in reverse too.

FOX bought the lie that Palin was a washed up has-been.
Now they’ve realised what a huge following she has.
She brings in the viewers! They probably had to ante-up a sweetened contract to get her back!!
I’m happy to see it.

As for Sarah...I hope she does run for the Arizona Senate seat so we can be rid of Juan McCain.

I hate to say this, and I’m not trying to be as anti-Palin as folks think, but I am VERY anti-policy on certain points.

Immigration is one of them.

If she were in the Senate right now, she would be voting for this immigration bill.

I cannot back someone who doesn’t know better than that.

We go after Rubio tooth and nail, but he isn’t advocating anything that Sarah isn’t.

The facts are that McCain was not going to lose his seat, and that you are some kind of obsessive guy who REALLY doesn’t want Palin on Fox news and who is not interested in Senator Cruz or the only Senate seat pick up in 2012 or the historical conservative victory of 2010.

Here is a 3 year old post, you won’t get it but others might.

To:*****
““I think it makes perfect sense, and not from a stance of political loyalty, either. In short, in this age of “gotcha” journalism, Sarah cannot say in 2008 that McCain is good enough to be President, but that he isn’t good enough to be Senator in 2010; which would be the meme if she declined to campaign for him. All it would do if she declined to campaign for McCain or outright spoke against him is make political hay for the left””

I think that the 2008 Republican VP not supporting the Presidential candidate in his reelection to his Senate seat would make the entire Republican race of 2008 look like a failed sham that the GOP was trying to pull over the public’s eyes, and I think that it would have halted the momentum that conservatives have built in recent months.

I believe that the general public would view Palin as shallow, unstable, and threatening, and also see the entire Republican brand in the same way, like they are in disarray and broken and most importantly, unstable and not ready to lead. Obama and the Democrats would be seen as the more stable and their win of 2008 would be perceived as the nation dodging a bullet that did not become known to the general public until Palin turned on the man that 60 million Americans voted for, for President.

I think that Palin has the reasons that you and others describe, but I also think that she sees the big picture and knows that the image that affects the vast general public will effect all of the conservative hopes for 2010, and that the general public does not see or want the same thing that the smaller number of us that despise McCain see or want.

I think that the media would have created an entire devastating narrative on the Arizona race that they would have used as a bludgeon against the Republicans and the Tea Parties and conservatives, and they would have buried Palin for good in an image of totally negative character and personality descriptions. It would all be incredibly ugly and while we here would see through it, the vast voting public would not, and that would effect all of our races nationally, and at the same time make Obama and his party look like a beacon of stability and consistency.

D, I guess I haven’t been paying attention, because I didn’t hear her say that she was supporting it. Will have to do some research on it for sure.

I can’t understand any conservative thinking it would be a GOOD thing to do legalize these folks when there are thousands of other people who got in line, did it the right way, and are waiting for the opportunity to be Americans.

The sad thing is, you have to go back years to draw attention away from massive policy failures today.

Are we facing a McCain/Palin ticket today? Are we facing a McCain run for re-election? No. We are facing an immigration fiasco.

And in the midst of that fiasco, you want to add one more voice that can back Rubio’s and the Left’s play over the next few months.

I’m don’t. Shame on you.

RE “PDS boy” etc., etc.,

It’s an opinion forum guys, that’s all... nobody here is the enemy. Just different opinions on people and issues that we all care about. We ALL love our country and want we think is best for it.

We should lay off the name calling and vitriol; one team, one fight.

Point guns outward, not inward. The other side hates us all equally whether we agree with each other or not.

Peace.

To be clear, I am not trying to state she has said she supports this bill.

It’s from her past interviews that I realize she has backed what’s in this bill before.

She wants to register illegals so they can stay here and work, support their families.

For that reason I cannot support the idea of her returning to FoxNews right now, so she can run interference for Rubio and the Left from there.

If we can’t be honest with ourselves, who can we be honest with?

My main consideration is not why you don't support Palin. Palin, whether at Fox News or supporting Tea Party candidates isn't going to solve the immigration problem. Exactly. The vitriol and name calling is the main reason conservatives are so often on the losing end. Libs rally around their causes and candidates while conservatives fight among themselves with a holier-than-thou attitude .

How ya’ figure?

She was a Fox News commentator in 2010 when she helped lead the Tea Party victory that took back the House.

Being a Fox News commentator in 2014 will be no different.

Except she may have even MORE clout now.

Especially since she cleaned Rove’s clock in the 2012 election cycle dollar for dollar.

For some reason, this reply of yours just appeared on my ping list.  No problem...

With all this on the table, your main consideration is why I don't support Sarah Palin.

My main consideration is not why you don't support Palin. Palin, whether at Fox News or supporting Tea Party candidates isn't going to solve the immigration problem.

Try to consider this point objectively.  I'm not trying to be insulting by saying that.

Please tell me what impact you think Palin would make on the immigration debate, if she started backing Rubio during her appearances on FoxNews now?  Millions of Conservatives would suddenly come to the conclusion that if she could back this bill, it must be okay.  Does that seem like something that you could term not impactful?

Who would be calling their representatives to object to this bill if Democrats weren't, and many Republicans followed Palin's play?

I find that to be a very impactful eventuality.

I'm well aware of the illegal problem and how it has increased. I want to know who you believe is capable of solving the problem, or at the very least taking the lead in securing the borders. Especially in light of the fact that the majority of Americans just don't seem to GAS.

This thread addresses the issue of Palin going back to FoxNews as a talking head.  I have explained why I see that as problematic.

That is all that I am trying to address here.

Anyone who is against the registration, legalization, or amnesty of current illegal immigrants would be acceptable to me as a person who could advocate for sound policy on this matter.

Did you see this?

We've already got around 30,000,000. Who in your opinion is the perfect person to solve the ongoing and future problem?

Once again, this thread addresses a woman going back to FoxNews as a talking head.  It is not a thread addressing who Conservatives think would be the right person to lead out against this immigration bill, or to lead sound immigration policy from here.

I am not prepared to make a firm comment on that at this time.

Sarah Palin on Amnesty:

Governor, let me ask you about immigration. How many undocumented immigrants are there in Alaska?

I don’t know, I don’t know. That’s a good question.

As governor, how do you deal with them? Do you think they all should be deported?

There is no way that in the US we would roundup every illegal immigrant -there are about 12 million of the illegal immigrants- not only economically is that just an impossibility but that’s not a humane way anyway to deal with the issue that we face with illegal immigration.

To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?

I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country.

I don't think she needs to mention Juan McLame at all, she simply needs to state her own opinion, in her own words, her own way.

Then step back and watch the firworks start. The worst thing one can do to their political enemy is to shred them and their position, making it clear to the entire world who they're talking about - without once naming them by name.

Interview was from 2008. And she still is against deportation of illegals. And she supports the RINO so-called “path to citizenship” for illegals.

She has been bought off by Murdoch so she will not criticize Boner’s upcoming Amnesty treachery that will continue to unfold until it passes and is signed into law before the summer recess.

Please read and listen to this interview.  In it Palin explains what happens if the illegals do not comply with what is required of them.  And by reasoned logic, it's clear what happens if they do comply with registration requirements.

I don't believe I have mischaracterised her position on this.  A careful review will verify that.

LINK

O'REILLY: So you're president of the United States, Sarah Palin. You send how many National Guard to the border right away to secure it?
SARAH PALIN, FORMER GOVERNOR OF ALASKA: However many you need. This is a top priority. This is a national security issue.
O'REILLY: All right, but I'm talking Texas, California, New Mexico, all of them. So you'd send maybe 10,000, 15,000 National Guard down there to assist the Border Patrol, yes?
PALIN: Whatever it takes. Whatever it takes.
O'REILLY: All right, so you'd militarize the border. You'd finish the fence, finish building the fence from Brownsville to San Diego, yes?
PALIN: Yes.
O'REILLY: Now we have 12 million people staring at you. And you say to those people you're in here illegally; you broke civil law by coming in here. Now are you going to deport them? What are you going to do?
PALIN: Well, again, first, let me go back to the importance of securing the border. They're talking about amnesty…
O'REILLY: No, but we got that, governor. Everybody…
PALIN: No, we don't.
O'REILLY: Yes, the people watching this program have it. We have it. We assume that you, as president, would secure the border. I have confidence that you would do that. But now you have to look inward, all right? And you've got 12 million people staring at you. What are you going to have them do?

PALIN: You're not going to give them a free pass. You're not going to say, OK, you and anybody else who wants to scurry across this porous border between now and when we finally do finally get it fenced in and physically secure, we're going to give you a free pass.
O'REILLY: All right.
PALIN: And just because you've broken law in the past…
O'REILLY: So no amnesty.
PALIN: …we can trust you. No, no amnesty.
O'REILLY: But what do you do with these folks?
PALIN: Which means…
O'REILLY: Do you make them register with the federal government? Do you tell them they have 60 days to get out of here before we put you in jail? What do you do with them?
PALIN: Do we make them register with the federal government? Yes, we do.
O'REILLY: Yes, so we know who they are.
PALIN: We have -- exactly, yes. I want to answer to that question absolutely.
O'REILLY: All right.
PALIN: We're not going to give them a free pass.
O'REILLY: So you make them register with the federal government.
PALIN: We're not going to reward the bad behavior.
O'REILLY: And if they don't register with the -- say you gave them 60 days to register with the federal government. There's a form at the post office they have to send in like a Census form. All right, say they didn't do it.
PALIN: You deport them.
O'REILLY: OK.
PALIN: You have to get them out.
O'REILLY: So the ones that don't…
PALIN: We don't reward their continued bad behavior.
O'REILLY: …after period of time. OK, after a period of time…
PALIN: Yes.
O'REILLY: …the ones that don't cooperate, you catch them, they're gone.

” “From there, then, once that is taken care of, we can deal with those who are here illegally and we can figure out all that immigration reform that needs to take place. “

We don’t need “immigration reform”, and any reform is amnesty.

Good job and well said. I suspect that threats have been made to pivotal conservatives surely as bribes have been promised to representatives (both Democrat and Republican) to insure this travesty amnesty is passed.

A Palin/Cruz ticket, IMHO, would trounce Hillary come 2016 as the bill comes due on Obamacare while the economy continues to founder. These two conservatives reach into the hearts of anyone who still has one - the conservative base and the sorely betrayed low-info Dems - when given a chance to communicate without being distorted by the cursed mass media.

Obamacare can and probably will be dismantled. Amnesty can not.

Registering doesn’t change what they are or what they have been doing. They need to be repatriated.

We don’t have to do it, just cut off the freebies.

Yes, she is just parsing. She’s a populist. I’m not convinced she has the core convictions she tries to make folks think she does.

PALIN: You have to get them out.

You have a problem with that?

Okay, so you’re playing the “Support Amnesty for Illegals or you’re not a Christian” card?

I asked you questions. Are you going to answer or spin?
