Standard boilerplate: Anyone who is licensed by the state is controlled by the state. I am a Therapist/psychologist/of any stripe licensed by the state and what you say here is kept confidential except in the following:  If you are a danger to yourself or others I am required by the state to report this to the authorities.;  If I have reasonable suspicion of abuse or neglect of a child or abuse, neglect or exploitation of an incapacitated or dependent adult I have a duty to report this to the local DHS office;  When I am ordered by the courts they always win.  If you ask and sign for information to be released to a third party.  If you ever file a complaint against me, I have the right to use the information you give me to defend myself.  I work in supervision with my peers. I may discuss aspects of our sessions with my peer supervisors in order to provide the best treatment possible. Be assured that I will maintain your anonymity. You lose your rights immediately on the "hunch" and they may be returned to you if the state bothers. Most states don't bother.
