Former New York lieutenant governor Betsy McCaughey bets “you can’t find five members of Congress who have read” the Senate “Gang of Eight” immigration bill.
The former Democrat is experienced at reading large bills the Congress seems inclined to pass without reading, such as Obamacare. She tabs them, underlines them and tries to see the big picture of what will happen if the provisions of the bill are implemented.
In an interview with The Daily Caller’s Ginni Thomas, McCaughey brought her dog-eared immigration bill with her and pointed to it repeatedly

Why have NONE OF THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA WITH their crack research staffs NOT jumped on this bill? All they have to do is object to the unanimous reading consent and the bill has to be read. But Congress is too F’n lazy to do anything but talk on TV shows. There is not a single person in Congress that with courage to force the reading of the entire bill.
Vacations and talk shows are more important.

You know, I think I might have hit on a reason that it seems the "mainstream media" has been playing with the Obama regime all this time, while nitpicking or even making things up about anyone else...
Let's face it. The US government isn't run by elected officials: It's run by bureaucrats and employees who have been unionized over the decades. Is it possible that before the 2008 election, some people in the Obama regime had discussions with the owners and editors, basically stating that they have passed the tipping point. That the government now belongs to the Chicago "machine." Combined with falling revenues for these media outlets, if they want to stay employed, they need to become a part of the Obama regime, which they've done.

The most outrageous (IMHO) of which is that
a. community organizations will be assimilating (educating in US history)and registering to vote the immigrants
b.and will be provided a steady funding stream but will not be held to the same accountability as a federal employee.
And it threatens national sovereignty and the Rule of LAW.
Representative Steve King is leading the gang of 70 against Amnesty.

Prepare, for after this administration, The United States of America as we know it is finished. We will be an apartheid nation and guess who will be the lower class.
Step 1 - Seal the borders.
Step 2 - Send anyone on an expired visa home.
Step 3 - Deal with the Lawbreakers who are still here.
Step 4 - Clearly define lawful steps to become a resident.
Each step has to be completed befire the next law can be passed.

Not exactly true - Recall that Harry Reid hired a speed reader to read the bill on the floor of the Senate. So yeah - it was read. It was also a great visual to show exactly how Reid and his crowd view the American people. Why is it that Republicans in Congress have such short memories?

Bingo. Most people have no idea how the rules work. All it takes is one single senator to object , and the entire bill has to be read, word for word.
It’s time to write/fax/email/call our US Senators and Congressmen again - they are making another pull for amnesty & open borders!
Tell them to vote NO! on the immigration bill and that listed below is what we need to do ASAP to protect America and preserve her freedom from illegal aliens/criminals:
1) Secure our borders
2) Enforce existing law
3) Not allow any amnesty provisions of any kind
4) Improve our visa system
5) Prosecute and fine those businesses which knowingly employ illegal workers
6) Give law enforcement officials the necessary resources and authority to combat illegal immigration
7) Deport illegal aliens violating the law after being fingerprinted, photographed, charged with a felony, and placing their information in a national database.
8) Send a bill for deportation/prison costs to the embassy of the illegal immigrant’s national origin.
9) 2nd time and thereafter repeat offenses by illegal aliens should be sent to work prison camps for a maximum of 6 months.
10) Seize and liquidate all assets from illegal aliens and use the proceeds for our military and local law enforcement.
11) Must not give illegal immigrants government welfare benefits of any kind, including Social Security
12) Designate English as our national language
13) Change the 14th Amendment regarding birthright citizenship for the children of illegal immigrants
14) Put pressure on the Mexican government and other nations to reduce illegal immigration to America.
15) Encourage only legal immigration and citizenship to for those wanting to become Americans.
These ENFORCED changes would strengthen America greatly.
I am amazed at the irresponsibility exhibited by our lawmakers. Which of them could honestly think this bill would be good for our country? It shoots every honest, tax-paying citizen in the foot. It is a power-building, “politics first” effort for dems and a suicide vote for the repubs. America will never recover from this bill. Absolutely disgusting.
