There **were** radar tracks from JFK. A video recording of them, sourced from the air traffic control system. was published for a while on YouTube. The relevant portion was about 8 seconds long, and was very clear. Copies may still be extant in private collections.

The couple from Florida who conveyed these recordings to the internet were arrested and prosecuted rather quickly and haven't been visible since then. Presumably there was a stringent plea bargain that kept them out of jail and supressed the need for a public trial.

The official explanation of the records was that they were "artifacts of the radar system" and that "disclosure was unauthorized".

That sentence was a quote from the post it was in response to. I think there were radar tracks, but as you suggested, the only copies around now are those that might still be saved on someone's hard drive. They probably don't officially exist.
