I'm in the computer programming business, and I love a lot of Apple products, for a long time now.

I was even a stockholder for a while (bought at $90, sold at $600, thank you veramuch).

But I'm also a parent, and I don't agree with this.

If you want to make a level playing field, then take such things away from everybody.

I have YET to be convinced that computers can be used to good effect in public school classrooms.

ESPECIALLY for smaller children.

I've come around to thinking that they can but only with serious thought and well-designed programs. And even then, computers are just convenient [and efficient] content-delivery tools.

But I agree with you to the extent that computers are simply handed out as replacements for books and library research.

That will do nothing at all.
