You have helped me better understand what is driving Pelosi to be the way she is.

Actually just the opposite. I think she does know and willfully wants to go against it! Because like Mrs. Bill Clinton she is a hippie left over from the 60’s and wants to rebel against the system.
Once you know what to look for, someone’s base worldview assumptions are readily apparent,
as well as their motivations.
Nanzi felt put upon by “breeding” a whole bunch of children, even though the Church told her they were a blessing, probably aborted the 6th & 7th, even though the Church told her it was a mortal sin,
and then turned to Humanism, each person judging right and wrong for themselves,
as justification for her rebellion.
