Barack Obama said he wont force Christian churches to hold gay weddings.
Not yet, anyway.
The Examiner reported:
President Obama, in his statement hailing the Supreme Courts decision to overturn the Defense of Marriage Act, promised that he wouldnt try to force religious institutions to conduct gay marriages.
On an issue as sensitive as this, knowing that Americans hold a wide range of views based on deeply held beliefs, maintaining our nations commitment to religious freedom is also vital, Obama said. How religious institutions define and consecrate marriage has always been up to those institutions. Nothing about this decision which applies only to civil marriages changes that.
Heres guessing that the Roman Catholics and other religious groups that are in the midst of fighting the contraception mandate are skeptical of that pledge.
Notre Dame and Catholic groups sued the Obama Administration last year after the far left administration forced Catholic organizations to carry abortion coverage.

He says that as if he could force compliance if he wanted to.
“Sounds like he considers himself a dictator now. He declares what he will or will not allow and so it is. Very scary stuff. We are screwed. Our society officially s-cks.”
Exactly!
The arrogance is unbelievable, but even more scary is that the main stream media and his followers believe he has the power whether he chooses to exercise his power or not.
Now what makes you think he would do that?

That won’t fly in the courts. Striking down DOMA was a pretty easy call based on equal protection. Forcing a church to do something against their beliefs is a clear violation of the “free exercise therof” clause.
But we will, of course, force Christian bakers to make homosexual ‘wedding cakes.’
Unfortunately, Separation of Church and State means what the Supreme Court says it means.
Even Communist Russia had freedom of religion in their laws. Their courts saw otherwise.
