I’m thinking this isn’t about Zimmerman at all. It’s about the concept of using a firearm in self defense against someone who doesn’t have a firearm. I began to think that when Zimmerman was originally charged, when Holder originally got involved. I think the Justice Department is likely to come up with some theory of excessive force if Zimmerman is not found guilty, as a way of attacking the 2nd Amendment in self defense cases. It’s a landmark case.
