You are correct. The jurors will know if they vote to acquit, they will never have a normal life again and will be hunted down.
I think it will be a hung jury, a mistrial declared and a new trial will need to be rescheduled...with GZ thrown back into prison to await in seeming limbo as to when such a new trial should take place!
If the jurors feel that way, then shame on them. If there are riots regardless of the outcome, then shame on us. What do riots prove? NOTHING!
Facts are stubborn things.
The jurors are competent, and despite these hysterical projections I am reading, they will not vote to convict unless the State has proven its case beyond a reasonable doubt.
The State will be unable to do so. Zimmerman will be acquitted. Justice will prevail. Riots will probably not ensue, but if they do, they will backfire severely, to the extreme detriment of those who foment them.
Doubtless many will cling to the myth of Trayvon Martin's martyrdom. Myths are powerful things. But most thinking people, including those in the black community, having been exposed to the facts of the incident, will have to face the reality that this was not a case of second degree murder.
Our jury system is one of the few things in this country which still retain the faith of the People. The main problem with juries nowadays is that they are not fully informed.
