So how does the House let Obama give 7B of OUR money to Africa? How is it that he is free to do this? Don’t they have to approve?
Plain as day, he is redistributing US wealth to Africa. At least it’s not one of his corporate crony campaign contributors, a union or community organization, like most of his redistributions have been in the past.
“So how does the House let Obama give 7B of OUR money to Africa? How is it that he is free to do this? Dont they have to approve?”
Since when has the Boehner/Republican House turned down any appropriation Barry demands? If the Republican House was doing its job it would have passed a balance budget, with appropriations in line with revenue, sent it to the Senate, and gone home. If Harry Reid’s Democrats declined to pass it, the federal government would have shut down until they did. Unfortunately Boehner and the Republicans choose to play in a charade where they talk tough and then roll over and vote for the continuing resolutions.
By design the House holds the purse strings for the federal government. The founders wanted the representatives up for reelection every 2 years to stand up to irresponsible spending. The Republicans in the House choose not to exercise the power. Therefore they are enablers of the madness and just as responsible for it as Obama, Reid, Pelosi, and the rest of the big spenders.
This should not be news to anyone. George W. Bush couldn’t find his veto pen when it came to spending. As a result the deficit doubled under his watch. When Republicans controlled the House and Senate under Hastert and Frist, they went on a spending spree attaching earmarks to every bill.
For over a decade the Republicans have zero credibility when it comes to fiscal responsibility. They are all talk and no action. As long as the American people vote either Democrat or Republican they can be assured the nation’s debt burden will continue to build.
Interesting to note that GE (Obama donor and non-tax payer company) will benefit from this African deal.
