Day 16 (Week #4) Zimmerman Trial – Witness Discussion Thread
The Conservative Treehouse ^ | July 1, 2013 | Sundance

Posted on 07/01/2013 5:17:35 AM PDT by Uncle Chip

Today, July 1st, is DAY #16 (of 4th week) State of Florida V. George Zimmerman case.

Last week the prosecution feebly presented the first series of witnesses against George Zimmerman. However, as most observers would note, the witnesses called by the state have so far been more beneficial for the Zimmerman Self-Defense position.

Did you see my post 1325?

(And yes, another mis-post).

Like I said, what a day.

If you are still enraged, then so be it.

Being controversial is the only way Nancy stays alive. She’s a paid antagonist.

Smirk ;)

Yep, he was the scape goat for our clueless _resident to create evermore strife and division. It is chilling that this is happening for exactly what you stated; any of us could be in that chair and be railroaded by the never ending drumbeat of racism. It has truly effected my outlook as I see the pimps getting even more brazen.

Nope, I would not sit in my car what with a firearm at my fingertips.

So the interrogator was trying to make him say something...fear I guess...was the only thing he could think of...not like he said " I was afraid for my life"...geez....

Interrogators prod and prod....sometimes until they get the answer THEY want...

Now THAT is really funny! Thanks for the best laugh I’ve had all damn day!

Did you ever see that comedian Rodriguez who did the bit about Michael and Janet Jackson and how you never see them together?! One of the funniest bits I ever saw.

LOL. An excellent point I could never refute. I plead ignorance: I have no idea how to get your goat. I just realized early on you know your shit.

Thank you so much. I didn’t have it committed to memory but I knew that he wasn’t out and out stating that he was ‘scared’ as it’s being portrayed.

“Fear I guess” is a looooooooong way from “I was scared”.

I think RummyChick just has the jitters over this.

As obvious as it is that Zimmerman did right, we can all see how this thing could go very wrong.

Why are you so adamant about what you think you heard when you don’t have the transcript to back up your argument?

Gosh, buffering IS storing in transient memory.

The words 'transient' and 'storing' are opposites. You should give it up you're 100% wrong. 'Recording' means 'to be recorded' which means there is a record which can be retrieved and re-played. A buffered packet which held for a micro-second during transmission cannot be retrieved and re-played.

We all have the jitters over this. Anybody paying attention to our culture knows how high the stakes are.

RC, of course you have a point, not sure what I would do. But I think there are several escalating stages. Starting with, a routine call to police about a suspicious person in relation to the security of the neighborhood. GZ realized TM saw him, thus making it personal to GZ safety. Even though at that point he became fearful, he still had the police on the phone and knew they were on their way, giving him some courage. He then exited the vehicle hoping to keep track of him.

Yes and imo it most likely will because it’s gonna be hard for this jury to ignore all the propaganda and threats.

We’ll see but I’m not going to be shocked it they convict.
So there’s no sense being frantic over nothing, because if there is a conviction it would be because of testimony.

The last time I watched a trial and listened to a talking head, was the OJ case because I enjoyed hearing Greta’s take on things.

I have no problem with RC other than the yelling at me to submit that the tape was a problem, when in fact RC was relying on what she was picking up from twitter. It seemed to be a rather hallow argument.

Thanks for the insight ~

-- I have no idea how to get your goat. --

Heheh. I enjoy a good, fair, argument, and try to avoid reacting to insults. I mean, if I get a message that is a mixed bag of insult and content, I'll reply to the content, but not the insult. But my patience is not infinite, and even though I don't have any personal ill will toward assholes, I also don't have the patience to deal with them. Plus, it's a waste of time. Not that waste of time can't be fun. I recall many a fun hour yanking on Nopardon's chain.

The handful of people that I refuse to deal with have made bizarre unfounded insults. Check out my profile page for one I found particularly humorous.

Get me a transcript of that interrogation tape and I will tell you in his exact words.

If I get a transcript, I can just read it for myself, right ?

Besides, I already heard him state he was trying to 'find' the suspect. That the suspect 'ran', that he could no longer see him.

PLUS, I'm not really sure what you are arguing (debating) about.

I think the 'getting out of the van' issue was a critical issue/point, but that it ended up falling flat on it's face.

However, I will defer to your personal experience and admit that women have a way of believing what they want to believe, and then spending the rest of their time justifying why it's correct, even in the face of contradictory evidence.

You must think all the females on the jury are that way, to even say that. Isn't that, in itself, a slam on women ?

OR am I way off base here ?

You think it's a major turning point, others don't.

What do you expect everyone to do? No one knows how it's going to turn out, so it's hard for anyone to pat you on the back and say you are correct.

“Yes there is a difference between being afraid and fearing for your life.”

From my own experience, I can say that I know the difference between fear and fear for one’s life.

When I was in high school, a mean bully kid told me he was going to wait for me by my car to beat the S out of me at the end of school. He was the school state champion in wrestling, and I knew he intended to do this. I was scared OUT OF MY WITS! Yet, I confess, I never thought I would actually end of up dead that day.

When I was in my twenties I was in the wrong side of town and a gang of minorities attacked me. This time, I could say I was honestly afraid for my life.

What should GZ think about his attacker? He doesn’t know that it’s a sweet boy carrying Skittles that goes horseback riding or fishing with a big smile on his face.

All he knows is he say a tall suspicious stranger. Now this stranger has broken his nose, and is smashing his head against the cement again and again. GZ can see that his screams for help yields absolutely no mercy from this attacker. Would the cement pounding ever end? I would be thinking “probably not until I’m dead.”
