Today, July 1st, is DAY #16 (of 4th week) State of Florida V. George Zimmerman case.
Last week the prosecution feebly presented the first series of witnesses against George Zimmerman. However, as most observers would note, the witnesses called by the state have so far been more beneficial for the Zimmerman Self-Defense position.

ok, I have one question I am confused about.
I thought Zimmerman’s parents weren’t allowed in the courtroom because they are going to testify.
The CNN (I know, I KNOW...) commentator just said TM parent’s might testify.
Then why are they allowed in??
Or do I have this all wrong....?
Might be under the theory of rebuttal. Different jurisdictions have different rules regarding that.

Yikes, he didn’t even attempt? That might be a problem? Course he said it was a waste of time because it’s unreliable....but I definetely seeing State bring that comment up when the time comes.
Wonder if the prosecution will next call Howard Dean as an expert scream witness.
There are different laws and rules for the victim’s family vs. for the defendent’s family re: being allowed to sit in the courtroom. I have no idea what the “reasoning” behind the rule is though. Probably something that came about as a result of a victim’s rights law passed. Maybe one of the legal experts here could weigh in.

Florida’s stand your ground law has tort immunity. If a person is found innocent b/c of self defense. Then civil suits are prohibited as a matter of law.
This was to deal with the sleazy plaintiff attorneys that went after home owner insurances. In this case the HOA surrendered too fast. The lawyers they had were fools.
