US Marines stationed in southern Europe have been put on alert as a precaution in advance of expected large demonstrations and potential unrest in Egypt this weekend, CNN has learned.
About 200 combat capable Marines in Sigonella, Italy, and Moron, Spain, have been told to be ready to be airborne within 60 minutes of getting orders to deploy, according to two administration officials.
The units have several V-22 tilt-rotor aircraft that would carry troops and infantry weapons to Egypt to protect the US Embassy and American government personnel and citizens if violence broke out against Americans.

The entire Middle East and parts of Northern Africa are going to explode within a year, especially after the USA pulls out of Aftganicrap.
I fear for Israel. But then they may be the only saving grace once the Muslims attack again - think 1967 and before. Pretty sure this time, the Israelis are not going tit for tat and will rain hell on those barbarians. I can dream.
And no, I don't give one sh#t about collateral damage. Better the barbarians' children die who are taught to hate all things Israeli, then one more Israeli child die. It's past time to go Dresden on them.

I say let Syria, Egypt, Libya, et al just kill each other. That's what Muslims do. If they can't kill the West, they kill each other - good. They can all disappear tomorrow and I and my Iranian friends will celebrate.

That is at least how it’s going to be perceived by the masses in the streets and maybe by the Egyptian military itself. And that puts the Embassy and the Marines coming in at very deep peril. They should just close up shop and evacuate till this mess, fostered and supported by the White House allies of the Muslim Brotherhood, gets sorted out. There’s a better than even chance the next few weeks are going to be an ankle deep in blood mess. And Obama has taken the side that’s likely to lose.
