I was there ... I lived it! :) In those days Freepers had banner-toting airplanes flying over major sporting events. We had street protests that involved the occasional busted nose (hey, we didn't start it, we just finished it!)
We made the tea party look ... tepid!

I was audited every year after helping that banner plane come over Cape Canaveral when the Clintons came for a shuttle launch. Their “guards” took our names and photos and warned us we were a threat to the President!
