re: “But the WESH-Channel 2 team saw hope for the state in the testimony of firearms analyst Amy Siewert of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. “This is the heart of the case,” analyst Jeff Deen said. “When George Zimmerman put this bullet in his gun, remember he was going to the store. He made assumptions about Trayvon Martin in seconds.”

Deen raised other points: An argument could now be made whether Zimmerman had a depraved mind. When you carry a gun ready to fire, Deen said, you're responsible for the consequences, whether you're right or wrong.”

I don't know who this analyst Jeff Deen is, but I am outraged that this so called expert claims that carrying a gun ready to fire is an indication of a depraved mind. I guess he expects those who carry guns for self-protection to keep their bullet in their pocket like Barney Fife.

I made this point earlier. Virtually every ccw carries with a round in the chamber because you could very well not have time to manually chamber a round. What if your other hand isn’t free?

Police carry with a round in the chamber. Off-duty cops carry guns with rounds in the chamber. Nobody freaks that they’re depraved for doing so. CCWs are walking and living in the same world they do. CCWs encounter criminals and killers just as easily as they can.
