I think it would make a very interesting, and inexpensive, sociological experiment to select one of the more violent parts of Chicago, and post vigilante posters around the place, in the early morning hours.
“WARNING! NOTICE IS GIVEN THAT ANY PERSON FOUND COMMITTING ACTS OF LAWLESS VIOLENCE WILL BE SUMMARILY EXECUTED! — Vigilance Committee”
This is not just directed at the criminals, but at the government, and most of all at the people who live in that area.
To the criminals it says that they may be killed without warning. To the local government it says that it has failed in its most important duty. And to the people who live there, it hopefully will give them the idea that the law is theirs to enforce, and not to wait around for it to be enforced.
The first effect would be the government having a hysterical hissy fit, then threatening the vigilantes and decrying people “taking the law into their own hands.”
For their part, the criminals might tone it down some, as they don’t know if it’s for real or not.
And hopefully, some honest citizens might decide that if they take out some of the bad criminals, it would be blamed on the vigilantes. And thus, the vigilantism would become self generating.
That is exactly how sharia is implemented. You knew that, and presented the scenario, anyhow. Why?
And they called Cambodia “The Killing Fields”. The problem for these folks is that they have every reason to fear the government as much as the street thugs. If they leave their security to the police, street thugs will kill them. If they defend their lives, then the cops will kill them or their local prosecutor will put them in prison for life.
Talk about a no-win scenario. Here is indisputable proof that the police and laws cannot protect you or prevent crime. The only thing decent people can do is get out of this city (and other liberal-run cities) and let the politicians and the criminals battle it out.
Let them try raising taxes from street thugs.
