In Wyoming, a Cheney Run Worries G.O.P.
The New York Times ^ | July 7, 2013

Posted on 07/07/2013 7:46:55 AM PDT by don-o

Ms. Cheney’s ambitions reflect a greater tension within the Republican Party as a younger generation feels less reluctance to challenge incumbents in the party, especially if they are seen as too consensus-minded or insufficiently conservative.

snip

What has startled some people here is not just the fact that Ms. Cheney is seemingly trying to nudge Mr. Enzi into retirement, but that she appears to be doing so with a hand from her father.

snip

Ms. Cheney’s broader line of attack on Mr. Enzi, though, may be that he is too willing to work with Democrats and not vocal enough in pushing conservative causes. Ms. Cheney, a State Department official in the administration of President George W. Bush, is a pugnacious partisan and has called President Obama “the most radical man ever to occupy the Oval Office.”

Get rid of Enzi. He’s an old Kennedy buddy and dupe.

Liz takes on Obummer by speaking the truth and calling a radical a radical and the GOP(e) is scared to death of her .... why the GOP(e) has lost my support & that of many other conservatives tired of holding their noses to vote "the lesser of two evils". This won't work with me any more.

The NYT has a distinct writing style; smarmy, condescending, and elitist. It is painful to read sometimes..

At the New York Times, Muslim Brotherhood and communists are not radical.

Pugnacious partisan. Hmmmm. Could the NYT be showing a bit of that liberal bias? What a shock! If Liz Cheney is that kind of a firebrand lord knows the GOP needs new blood and some backboned types to resuscitate the dying party, if that can be done.

Seems that South Carolina and Wyoming Senate seats are very ripe for conservative insurgency. Tennessee needs to primary Lamar! in 2014.

Liz Cheney is top flight all the way. Why shouldn’t a republican take on the partisan radical democrat party?

As for worrying the “GOP” that includes me until I resign over this amnesty betrayal, and I read this news with a sense of hope.

Liz would have to be dead for a few months in order for her IQ to drop to that of the Hillabeast.

The NYT is afraid.

Very afraid.

Why would it “startle” anyone that her own father supports her???

I’m sure the NYT will find it inspiring when the Clintons burden us with their left wing nothingburger of a daughter.

Doesn't she support gay marriage? That'll make her an automatic non-starter for a lot of Conservatives.

I’m convinced that like Far Left “best selling” authors, somebody is making mass purchases of MSM publications to pad and inflate readership numbers..

It's hard to tell.

She hides behind States Rights on this issue.
