We all knew this was coming...and part of his plan. Municipalities must, by law, go with the lowest quote...which will be the govt plan. Eventually all municipal employees will be dumped onto govt plan...furthering the argument for single payer system...Obamoas end goal anyway.
Our county self insures. They have a company that manages it. We also have a county hospital that runs deep in the red. From what I understand one of the few county hospitals left.
Hubby is a retired county firefighter. He went to see his doc the other day and doc said that he had sent one of his gals to the county board of supervisors meeting. They are talking about totally dumping their self insured insurance and just sending everyone to the county hospital. Lots and lots of employees, especially if you add retirees, added to the numbers at the already overloaded hospital. Hubby pays big money for his insurance that will then require he wait for hours at the county hospital. Needless to say he is peeved.
