Dr. Helen Smith: American society has become anti-male. Men are sensing the backlash and are consciously and unconsciously going "on strike." They are dropping out of college, leaving the workforce and avoiding marriage and fatherhood at alarming rates. The trend is so pronounced that a number of books have been written about this "man-child" phenomenon, concluding that men have taken a vacation from responsibility simply because they can. But why should men participate in a system that seems to be increasingly stacked against them?
As Men on Strike demonstrates, men aren't dropping out because they are stuck in arrested development. They are instead acting rationally in response to the lack of incentives society offers them to be responsible fathers, husbands and providers. In addition, men are going on strike, either consciously or unconsciously, because they do not want to be injured by the myriad of laws, attitudes and hostility against them for the crime of happening to be male in the twenty-first century. Men are starting to fight back against the backlash. Men on Strike explains their battle cry.

I see women with whom I would love to strike up a conversation, but they just cannot seem to put their smartphones down long enough to stop texting.
The world today teaches males at a young age that women have “options”, men have obligations.
It’s an old, old saying, but still apt: Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?
Especially when the cows are surly and unpleasant feminists, liberals, and just plain big-mouths.
Hey, I can heat up a dinner in the microwave as well as anyone and wash my own socks.
Not to mention that even if you do ‘strike up a conversation’ you can possibly be sued for ‘sexual harassment’ or worse, arrested for solicitation or rape..............
Men are learning that it is easier to find a woman you hate and buy her a house.
It saves a lot of time
Girls have become introverted nerds, always hanging together or testing on their phones. They are just as bad as boys that play video games all day and night.
Maybe my point of view is skewed, but when one’s wife of 23 years, for whom one has worked hard to provide a good loving home, LEAVES and moves in with a bum who lives off the public dole and the women he gets to live with him.......
One gets a sour taste in one’s mouth for marriage.
Goodness! Exactly the same happened to a buddy. I was over at his house for dinner when I suddenly realized his wife was hitting on a guy who had trouble tattooed all over him. A few months later she moved in with this in-and-out-of-prison deadbeat. (He was a handsome deadbeat, but gee.)

Men are waking up to the fact that they are the ones getting screwed. Men adapt, women not so much.
There are a lot of guys who like women, but they don’t like American women. Too many American women are extremely demanding and they don’t like American men. What is so great about American women?
I feel incredibly lucky that we raised all three of our daughters the conservative, old-fashioned way and they all married conservative, old-fashioned men who honor them and are worthy of them.
My youngest was 16 one day when she cleaned out her closet and asked me to drive her to Goodwill. None of her clothes were slutty, but they were fashionable.
"But you picked out those clothes and worked hard for the money you earned to buy them," I protested.
"They draw attention from the type of guys I don't want attention from," she replied. "I'm keeping about 10 modest outfits which don't and that's all I need."
That's the day my little girl turned into a wise young lady.
Yep, and women are given a pass on cheating. They always have “justification” that their friends and family accept. “I wasn’t being fulfilled”, “I wasn’t appreciated”, “He just didn’t live up to expectations”, “He was mean making me actually do some housework from time to time, while he was at work!”. Etc.
1. Why buy the cow when the milk is free? (Yes, your Mom/Grandma/Aunt Bessie were right about that)
2. A growing percentage of American women are gonzo/whacko/certifiably crazy. The next Lifetime Movie of the Week entitled “She Fed Her Husband Into a Wood Chipper” could be based on your life story.
3. An increasing number of young men are unable (or unwilling) to hold down steady employment or take on the sorts of responsibility that come with marriage. And instinctively many of them seem to know this.
4. The nuclear family is SOOOOOOO 1950’s. The family structure has been blown apart. Gay weddings are only going to rapidly accelerate that process. Young males are looking at marriage as the equivalent of taking a job down at the buggy whip factory.
5. Pursuant to the above, an increasing percentage of the young male population is....well, gay. Successfully recruited by the media and education establishment.
6. And if you do manage to accumulate some wealth, why let the crazy broad walk away with half of it when things inevitably go south? This is afterall a “me first” society. Concepts like sharing are again SOOOOOO 1950’s.
